Just your SVG, turned into pixels.
The checkerboard shows transparency. It is not part of your PNG.
No need to open a full design app for a quick export. Start with a static, self-contained SVG and make a PNG you can actually use.

Shapes, paths, gradients and basic text are supported. External resources, scripts, filters and stylesheets are rejected with an explanation.
Yes, when you choose Transparent. Empty areas remain transparent; shapes already painted in your SVG stay painted. A white rectangle inside an SVG is still a white rectangle. The checkerboard is only a preview aid.
Use Keep original proportions and change the width, or choose 2× or 3×. These presets multiply the original SVG dimensions, not the current settings. An SVG with a 640 × 480 viewport exports at 1280 × 960 with 2×. Raster images embedded in an SVG are outside this tool’s support.
This converter handles a defined subset of static SVG. Files with scripts, stylesheet blocks, external resources, linked copies, embedded images, animations, masks or filters are rejected. In your editor, convert copies and text to paths and export a plain SVG with presentation attributes. See supported features and examples.
A PNG stores pixels, so it does not preserve editable SVG paths or text. Keep your original SVG as your editable source. Increasing PNG dimensions creates more output pixels; it does not recover missing detail from an existing bitmap.
